Like many people, we have experience someone who have been diagnosed with cancer. My name is Lisa Morton and I personally know that we can make a difference in our communities in the fight against this disease. That is way I’m pleased to announce that we have again this year working with the D’Light Skate N Palace Management Team in participating along with the American Cancer Society (ACS) Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) 2008 National Walk on the Mall on October 19, 2008.
Last year, the D’Light Skate N Palace Management Team and my dear friend Tami Johnson heard my voice and concerns about how we can support the American Cancer Society to bring awareness and education to our community to help eradicate this disease. I did not have to say much more to them. I will always remember the response that was said by them, “Let’s Do It!” And now we are celebrating our 2nd Annual event supporting the American Cancer Society and MSABC National Walk. Through roller skating we can engage in our community an opportunity to continue to educate and bring awareness through community outreach. My strength is HOPE and I know we can achieve a future where this disease no longer threatens those who we love.
So please join me, my friends, family and roller skaters to take part in this noncompetitive walk and raise money to support ACS and MSABC 5th Annual Walk on the Mall. There will be three days of activities sponsored by D’Light Skate N Palace leading up to the Walk. And that’s not all. Come join us back at the Roller Rink to celebrate our achievements with fun-filled activities.
